Personality: Very timid and scared to trust others at first. He can be very gentle and caring for those who he does get close to. Kind of has a "little brother" complex. He often has a hard time acting his age.
History: He come a smallish family with his parents and two younger sisters. They all had a close connection and his mom almost always babied him the most. When he was younger, she'd often dress him up in silly costumes that boys normally wouldn't wear. He didn't mind this and normally had fun with her when she'd do this. He had also received Kayne as a Sandshrew at a young age. The two were inseparable and did everything together. A lot of the time, Kayne would sneak out and get into little fights. Eventually he came back a Sandslash and Butch started wearing thicker clothing to be able to snuggle up to him.
When he was a teenager, he'd often walk to the convenient store to get some candy after school. One night his mom sent him after some milk and bread from the store. A small group of thugs noticed Butch coming and going from there a lot and ended up mugging him before he was able to get the groceries for his mother. From here on out, he refused to go out unless someone was with him. And he began to become incredibly timid. Not trusting anyone upon first meeting them.
In time, his family just tried to cope with this new behavior and normally just...babied him with it. Until one day, his father started making him get out on his own more. He even urged him to go out and start his /own/ life. Butch was very hesitant at first, but eventually agreed and moved off to the Island Named Bill to start up his own candy shop.
Other:
-has a slightly chubby face _{and it makes him look more like a girl pfft}
-wears very thick clothing so he can hold his pet Sandslash, Kayne.
-he almost always has Kayne with him, normally in his arms
-he always has some sort of candy with him. Normally jawbreakers and gumballs...things that won't melt if he keeps them in his pockets
